    Open Enrollment Results Available

Seattle Public Schools is pleased to announce that Open Enrollment for School Choice results will be available online starting Tuesday, April 21, 2020 through the Assignment Lookup Tool. To use the Assignment Lookup Tool, please enter your student’s ID number and birth date.

Admissions will send choice assignment letters to families of students who were granted a choice assignment for the 2020-21 school year. Admissions will email choice assignment letters on April 21. Students without a parent or guardian email address in the Source will receive their choice assignment letter by USPS mail during the week of April 21. If your student did not participate in School Choice, parents and guardians can still access the Assignment Lookup Tool to verify next year assignment information.

School Choice applications will continue to be accepted through May 31, but they are late and do not receive any tiebreaker priorities. When more students apply for a school, grade, and program than available classroom seats, waitlists are formed based on tiebreaker priorities. Late application tiebreakers are date received and lottery number. Waitlists for the 2020-21 school year will dissolve on August 31, 2020.

If additional choice seats become available, waitlisted students will be contacted by Admissions in waitlist order, to be offered a choice assignment; families will have 48 hours to accept or decline the offer before the next student must be called. Please confirm parent and guardian contact information in the Source is current.

If you need assistance, please contact the Admissions office online or by phone 206-252-0760.

    School Choice Inquiry Process:

If your student participated in School Choice, but you: 1) do not see them on the waitlist, or 2) dispute the choice process, you may file an inquiry. To file an inquiry, please contact the Admissions office online or by phone 206-252-0760.

Provide your student’s information, a brief summary of the issue or concern, and any proof of original submission (if applicable). An enrollment facilitator will conduct a prompt and thorough review. Inquiries that are honored due to processing error will be amended to the student’s original choice submission date and applicable tiebreakers. This may result in a reassignment or an adjustment to waitlist rank order to place students correctly. Additional information about inquiries is available here.
