    Boundary Changes for 2018-19 School Year

    Proposed Genesee Hill and Lafayette boundary changes

    Changes to the Genesee Hill Elementary and Lafayette Elementary attendance areas are being proposed to address the capacity challenges at Genesee Hill Elementary. If approved by the Seattle School Board, these changes would be implemented for the 2018-19 school year and grandfathering would be available to current students.

    Approved Adams, Loyal Heights and Whittier boundary changes

    At their meeting on Nov. 1, 2017, the Seattle School Board approved changing area 128 from Whittier to Loyal Heights for the the 2018-19 school year, and maintained the other changes (area 2 and area 127). Current students are to be grandfathered. The School Board also added transportation for grandfathered students.

    Magnolia and Queen Anne area boundary changes

    The opening of Magnolia Elementary has been delayed to an estimated opening of fall 2019. Changes will be proposed for some or all schools in the Magnolia and Queen Anne area. Magnolia was previously estimated to open in fall 2018.

    There are no middle or high school boundary changes scheduled for 2018-19.
